Our Advancement Philosophy

Advancement Is Earned Through Evidence, Not Guesswork

Orca Pings uses ranks and pay grades to make growth visible, fair, and achievable. The purpose is to celebrate skill, reliability, responsibility, leadership, and service.

Employees should not have to guess what advancement looks like. Each rank has an acceptance rubric, and each pay grade has a transparent range. Promotions are based on documented growth, demonstrated capability, and the level of responsibility a person is ready to carry.

Key Policy Principles

  • Degree Equivalency : Proof of experience, accredited training, or testing may be accepted where a relevant degree is required.
  • Annual Review : Current as of 2026 and reviewed at least annually based on economic conditions.
  • Open Review Requests : Any employee can request a promotion review at any point using the next grade checklist.

Rates shown are hourly base rates. Year columns represent years at Orca Pings. Vacation pay is paid in addition to base wages: 4% by default and 6% after 5 years of employment, unless a higher entitlement applies.
